MTV Official Picks Up Sexy Thriller 'Teen Wolf'
MTV is picking up a new sexy thriller entitled “Teen Wolf.” With the recent success of the “Twilight” franchise, both vampires and wolves have been hot items in scripted entertainment. They picked up a remake of the 1980′s hit television show “Teen Wolf.” They will begin production on the upcoming television series this summer.The first ordered run for the show is reportedly twelve episodes, and was described by star Tyler Posey as a “sexy thriller set against the drama of high school life with a forbidden, romantic love story at its core.”
The plot of the story is that a shy, young man named Scott McCall has always wanted to be recognized for his accomplishments by his peers, but is never able to realize his dream. He is looking for something to take him from a nobody to a somebody at his local high school. One night, his good friend named Stiles convinces him to head into the local forest to help the police search for the body of a murdered individual. While searching in the woods for the body, Scott stumbles across a wild creature. He is able to escape the attack from the creature, but was bitten in the process. The bite makes him a werewolf, and the following days will be very different in the life of Scott McCall.
MTV is also considering developing a British version of the show to be titled “Skins.” A number of different individuals have been considered for the leading part, but no obligations have been made to any one actor at this time. The original film was quite popular when it was released in the 1980′s, and the recent surge of interest in this kind of subject matter has made many television networks and movie studios consider building content around what the masses are looking for.
