Pop singer Justin Bieber recently canceled a performance on the German TV show “Wetten Dass” due to an accident that one of the performers underwent after he attempted to jump over cars on the stage.
Samuel Koch was rushed to the University Hospital of Dusseldorf after he fell while jumping over a third car on the stage of the show.
He was being treated for multiple injuries and bone fractures that required corrective surgery. He was originally admitted with life threatening injuries, but has now been downgraded to “critical” condition.
After the accident, Justin Bieber issued a statement that said, “Just want to let my people in Germany know I won’t be on Wetten Dass tonight as an accident has taken place and we all don’t think it is right to continue. Please pray for Samuel Koch & his family as we wait and hope for his health and safety.”
The host of the show, Thomas Gottschalk, said that he had a bad feeling when Koch went out to perform, and introduced him to the stage saying, “I have never been so scared…I hope all goes well.” After the accident, he said, “I regret enormously that this has now happened.”
