Selena Gomez recently wore a cyan-blue bikini on the set of her upcoming movie, titled “Monte Carlo” on June 25 in Monaco. She strutted out with her head held high, likely knowing that pictures of her in the bikini would be surfacing online almost as soon as they were taken. Gomez will be turning 18 on July 22, and is certainly celebrating her adulthood.
On the set were a number of her other co-stars including Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy. The movie will be loosely based on the book Headhunters by Jules Bass. There is no word on why Gomez had to appear in a bikini for the scene.
In the movie, Gomez plays the role of Grace, a Texas woman who is planning to go to Europe with her friend Emma, who will be played by Katie Cassidy. The film reportedly has a small budget, but will feature a number of high-profile actresses, including Gomez who will likely garner interest from the younger crowd. Reportedly, in the movie they will travel to Paris, where they will be mistaken for wealthy socialites.
When a million dollar necklace goes missing, Gomez and her co-star are enlisted to help find the necklace. The film is currently scheduled for release in February of 2011. Nicole Kidman is one of the producers for the film.
It will be interesting to see what route Gomez takes with the rest of her career. Former Disney child-stars like Lindsay Lohan have turned to the nightlife and party scene, while others like Miley Cyrus have turned their on-screen success into a flourishing music and movie career.
